The report Trafficking in Persons in the United States examines human trafficking case studies to identify points of intervention at each stage of the trafficking process. The researchers sought to identify actions that would lead to more successful prevention of trafficking; the discovery, liberation, improved care, and rehabilitation of victims; and ways to increase prosecution that will shut down trafficking operations. The authors discuss major findings, including who is most likely to be a victim, how traffickers control the victims, and the difficulty in successful arrest and prosecution in trafficking cases. This report also provides recommendations to improve the handling and understanding of human trafficking cases.
